Look at that Fit!

When I graduated from RBBB Clown College, I left with a high-end clown wardrobe and shoes that we called the “Agent Suit.” The Agent Suit was your unique clown look that would theoretically make you stand out to the circus producers and booking agents who filled their seasons in the ring, on stage, and at birthday parties around the world.

This first taste of fancy fabric thirty years ago turned me on to always looking fantastic onstage. Granted, during my first few years post-RBBB, I didn’t have the funds to feed my need for custom threads. Once it happened, though, I couldn’t stop. Custom Everything!!

So here’s a glimpse of my first custom wardrobe. I helped put it together with an amazing 🤩 designer and builder I met through the AcroBuffos. Ashley not only knew the ins and outs of crafting a gorgeous fitted piece, she knew clowns and what they actually did in their costumes.

With a few alterations, I even used this piece many years later during my Venardos Circus season last year.
